You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” detailing the expected costs of your therapy services. Healthcare providers are required by law to provide this estimate to patients who do not have insurance or who choose not to use their insurance, ensuring transparency in medical billing. A Good Faith Estimate outlines the total anticipated cost of any non-emergency services, including therapy sessions, medical tests, prescription medications, and related fees. It is important to receive this estimate in writing at least one business day before your scheduled service or item. You can also request a Good Faith Estimate from your healthcare provider, or any other provider of your choice, before scheduling a service. If the final bill is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the charges. Remember to keep a copy or a photo of your Good Faith Estimate for your records. For more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, please visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
